Support for Environmental Day
and local community group JEMS

Photos from the JEMS day

We sponsored a one day event in St. Vincent put on by JEMS – a local community based, environmental group. JEMS had a three day summer Environmental Program in August for secondary school students with a focus on “Sustainable Living Through Backyard Gardening” and the last day was sponsored by the SVG Helping Hands, Inc which allowed the students to tour several local backyard gardens.

We raised the money to help JEMS by collecting and turning in aluminum cans, plastic and glass bottles. We are still collecting cans and bottles in a effort to reduce the amount of trash in the landfills and raise money for the organization.

St. Vincent & The Grenadines Red Cross

Red Cross provides care for the most vulnerable. School Children that are attending school with no breakfast causing serious harm to their health and educational focus in class. They would faint in school and have to be taken to the local clinics. The elderly are stereotyped as requiring special care due to poor health, lack of finances and social support. Non-communicable diseases and other untreated illnesses has caused the elderly to lose their independence, making them more in need of senior care. Red Cross provides services when there are natural disasters occurring in SVG at any time.
